Congressional candidate Frank KratovilState's Attorney Frank Kratovil (D-Stevensville) will be fundraising in Washington Thursday afternoon for his campaign for the 1st Congressional District with the help of the state's Democratic congressional delegation. Guests include U.S. Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-Baltimore) and Ben Cardin (D-Baltimore), U.S. Reps. Elijah Cummings (D-Baltimore), Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Cockeysville) and John Sarbanes (D-Towson) plus U.S. Reps. Steny Hoyer (D-Mechanicsville), the House majority leader, and Chris Van Hollen (D-Kensington), the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Tickets cost $2,500 for political action committees, $1,000 for benefactors, $500 for supporters and $250 for guests. It is unclear how much Kratovil expects to raise at the event. The second fundraising quarter of 2008 ends Monday.
Kratovil is currently running against state Sen. Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville) in the 1st district, which takes in all of the Eastern Shore and parts of Harford and Baltimore counties. The seat trends Republican, but national Democrats see a pick-up opportunity. The DCCC has put Kratovil's campaign on its Red-to-Blue program.

What's slots have to do with it KentIslandGOPer? You're obviously a connected Gilchrest supporter.
Politicker, did Kratovil bring out his best friend, Martin O'Malley?
Ehrlich lost this seat for the GOP
I'm sorry Wayne didn't support you on slots, former Congressman Ehrlich. That's no reason to hand the Democrats a congressional seat that we would have held for years. This may be the biggest blunder of your less-than-stellar political career.
