Poll: O'Malley's performance as governor has improved

Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley's job approval rating has increased according to a new poll.

A survey by Gonzales Research & Marketing Strategies shows 45 percent of those polled statewide approved of O'Malley's performance as the state's chief executive. Thirty-five percent disapproved and 20 percent gave no response.

The former Baltimore mayor has seen an increase in his job approval by 8 points since March, according to an earlier survey conducted by the group. His disapproval is 13 points down over the same time period.

The poll was conducted between Aug. 29 and Sept. 5 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent. The poll surveyed 833 registered voters in Maryland via phone.

Nice Democratic Party

Nice Democratic Party talking points. It's funny, Dr. A, you have the same praise for Frank Kratovil. I wonder why?

Progress

The governor showed true political courage by doing what was right over what would be politically popular with the special session. He took a hit for it, but as he continues to increase investment in school funding, keep tuition affordable at our public colleges, helps those facing foreclosure, and expands the middle class his popularity keeps on rising.

Great job governor! Glad to see your poll numbers on the rebound and keep up the good work for the people of Maryland.
