As the Democratic Party gathers in Denver for their national convention in two weeks, the Frederick County GOP is hoping to get some fired-up Republicans out to a training session for registering new voters.
The Frederick County Republican Central Committee and partnering clubs will host a voter registration volunteer training by County Board of Elections Election Director Stuart Harvey and the board's GOP member, Mary Lou Green, on Aug. 26.
Voter registration remains a top priority for Republican activists in Frederick County," said event organizer and Republican Central Committee member Katie Nash. "Outreach and a strong Republican message of lower taxes and energy solutions will continue to grow the GOP."
Harvey will brief the gathering on the current registration numbers providing extra insight through recent data as well as historical trends. Kelly Schulz, the local John McCain presidential campaign coordinator, will conduct precinct organization training for prospective and current Republican grassroots leaders.
"Frederick Republicans are energized to elect Sen. John McCain and will continue to build a grassroots organization that will strengthen as we near November 4th," Schulz said.
The group will meet in the Community Room at the C. Burr Artz Library on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m.
