Edwards talks about Hoyer and FISA
By Politicker StaffYesterday, U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Fort Washington) discussed her vote against the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and how she broke the news to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Mechanicsville).
In the video, Edwards talks about the importance of having members who will stand up against their own leadership. She recounted the story of approaching Hoyer on the House floor and how she sternly told him, "Steny, I will not vote for that FISA bill."
The 4th District Democrat was in Cape Elizabeth, Maine to endorse Chellie Pingree for Maine's open 1st District House seat, PolitickerME.com reports. The incumbent, Tom Allen (D), is currently challenging U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R).
