Prince George’s County special election update: Harrison’s lead holds steady

Andrea Harrison: Poised to win in PG CountyAndrea Harrison: Poised to win in PG CountyAndrea Fletcher Harrison (D-Springdale) holds a lead of 5.22 percentage points over Mayor Adam Ortiz (D-Edmonston) in the race to fill the vacant District 5 seat on the Prince George’s County Council, according to new data released by the Prince George’s County Board of Elections.

The numbers were updated after provisional ballots were recorded late last night. Harrison now leads with 1237 votes compared to 1066 for Ortiz.

The board will count any military and overseas ballots on Friday morning in Upper Marlboro.

Those ballots, the last to be counted, are expected to be minimal and are unlikely to change the results.

Harrison has served the past five years as the deputy chief of staff for the District 5 council office.

So Much for Transparency and Honesty

Harrison's finance report is certainly incomplete and inaccurate (she did not just spend $4,000). Still it's better than Adrion Howell who has yet to file any finance reports (earning fines from the Board of Elections.)
