“The Korean War is often referred to as the ‘forgotten’ war, and recognition of our veterans from this war is long overdue,” said Cardin in a statement. “This Federal Charter lets the nearly 1.2 million American veterans of the Korean War who are still alive know that we have not forgotten them, and we honor the sacrifice they made for our nation.”

Ruppersberger helps Hughes help the Bay

The Baltimore Examiner covers District 2 Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger's press conference yesterday, announcing $10 million in federal funding for the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay.

One of the groups receiveing funding is the Harry Hughes Center for Agro-Ecology Inc., which will use the money to research "biofuels, forest-land conservation and water-supply protection, including the Bay's watershed."

Former Gov. Hughes, chair of the group, was on hand to congratulate Ruppersberger for his leadership.
