Chris Van Hollen and the DCCC supported troubled Representative Tim Mahoney with $1.5 million in promised advertising for his campaign after his alleged extramarital affair.

Obama and Cardin: Getty Images PhotoU.S. Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Baltimore) is headed down to the bellwether state of Florida this weekend, to campaign for the presidential campaign of his colleague Barack Obama (D-Ill.). He'll headline three events on Sunday and Monday, Aug. 10 and 11.

On Sunday, Cardin will kick off the campaign's 'Florida Forums for Change' with a discussion on baby boomer retirement security in Port St. Lucie. On Monday, he will host events with the Jewish Community in Delray Beach and Coconut Creek.

Cardin remained neutral throughout the long primary season, endorsing the Illinois senator in June. Since then, he has taken an active role with the campaign, specifically in appeals to his fellow Jewish voters.
