Roxanne TaylorDENVER - Roxanne Taylor (D-Bowie), a Barack Obama Democratic National Committee delegate from the 5th District, plans on making it to presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama’s acceptance speech despite suffering from a stroke.

Taylor checked in to Denver Medical Center early Tuesday morning after she suffered a stroke during a reception hosted by Comptroller Peter Franchot (D-Takoma Park).

“She is recovering miraculously,” Maryland Democratic Party Executive Director Quincey Gamble told the Maryland delegation during a reception at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Gamble then read a statement from Taylor: “Nothing will stop me from being there Thursday night,” she said.

Denver Renaissance HotelState Democratic Party leaders will be in Denver on Friday for a day-long Democratic National Convention walkthrough. Party Chair Michael Cryor, Executive Director Quincey Gamble and Finance Director Sue Levitan will tour the Pepsi Center from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with their respective counterparts from all 50 states.

“We're fine tuning convention planning and more importantly working on the integration of the Obama campaign and the state party efforts,” said Gamble, in an email to PolitickerMD.com.
