![]() Seniority over at least 30-something new colleagues next year and a chance to dive right into the mix of things. Obviously, she’s got the most riding on this. |
![]() Even though financial prudence is a good argument, many liberals here and around the country would take umbrage to his denying Edwards’ opportunity to get a jumpstart in Congress. A man with his eye on higher office would want to make them happy (even moreso than Hillary Clinton, whose superdelegate count wouldn’t mind the seat staying open past August). |
![]() Wynn was expected to be a superdelegate for him at the August Democratic National Committee Convention in Denver. Edwards is behind him, too, and if the count is tight, every single vote is going to matter. |
![]() Hillary Clinton's chief delegate hunter is surely too busy to be worrying about one little vote at the convention, and making calls to the Governor encouraging him to hold it off ‘til after August…. right? |
![]() The nightmare weather of the Feb. 12 primary supposedly hurt their numbers in poll judges and the like. They’re currently prepping a special election in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties (primary this Tuesday). Could they try and squeeze it in by then? |
![]() According to Johnson's spokesperson, Wynn did not call the Prince George’s County Executive to inform him of his decision, before or after the announcement. It could be because Wynn is angry with him for remaining passive in his tough primary race. While he still has Steny Hoyer and Chris Van Hollen, this leads us to wonder if any of the county's federal dollar might be lost in the shuffle during a vacncy? |
![]() One less Democrat from a safe district means one more Democrat from a moderate district will be needed to pass tight votes for the majority. |
![]() If the Democratic battle this summer is so bloody that it causes widespread chaos, there could be some caucus fights in November. Should Hoyer take a side in the fight, lose allies, or who-knows-what, he’ll need every vote he can get. Wynn was a lock for him, and while Hoyer spent a lot in opposition to Edwards, the rest of the delegation would surely pressure her into supporting one of their own. |
![]() What priorities will Wynn help them push through before the Bush 43 presidency is out? Surely they’re not interested in seeing Edwards get to Congress any earlier. |
![]() Rumor is he’ll move up to Wynn’s seat on the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, thanks to ol’ Steny. |
