Rep. Donna Edwards, at her address to the Netroots Nation conference:
"And the political pundits will also say -- I mean they all want you to hire all those professionals, you know, do polls and those sort of things. And then they look at the polls and tell you why you can't win; they never tell you how you can win, they always tell you why you can't. And we can't listen to that. Because if we listen to that, we just take the word of the establishment and the folks who really are our champions -- our champions we really need to invest in -- we won't. And we'll be making a really big mistake."
Hmm. Perhaps mega-pollster Celinda Lake does not qualify as one of "all those professionals," seeing that Edwards 'invested' $34,000 in her company for polling costs over the last 8 months.
And what about people who do "those sorts of things," like GMMB? Guess not, since Edwards seems to have paid the political consulting firm -- one of the largest in the country -- a cool $240,00 this cycle alone.
