If Capitol Hill was like high school (isn't it, though?), Steny Hoyer would be class president while Barbara Mikulski would be with the bully who takes your lunch money.
So says The Washingtonian's unscientific superlatives poll of 1,700 congressional aides for their September 2008 issue.
Mikulski was voted 'Meanest' (with the editors noting the "overwhelming majority" of votes for her came from within the Democratic Party), though we think The Washingtonian is the mean one for having a 'Fashion Victim' category, where Babs is also tops.
Hoyer is Mr. Popularity, voted the 'Workhorse,' 'Most Eloquent' (through Republican support, they say) and, believe it or not: 'Member I'd Like to See Run for President in 2012.' Iowa delegation meeting, anyone?
One has to wonder whether that last category was fixed -- Ron Paul finished strong, the editors say.
